Private Swimming Lessons


The Arden Manor Private Swimming Lesson program is designed for swimmers of any skill level, ages 3 and up. Instructors will tailor lesson plans to fit a swimmer’s specific needs.  All private lessons are 4 days for 25 minutes each day. Each session runs Monday – Thursday for $60.00 per swimmer.

  • No Refunds: Due to volume of interest in the program, AMRPD adheres by a no refund policy once the participant is registered.
  • Transfers: Participants may transfer to a different session or class for an additional $5 fee.
  • Class Cancellations: AMRPD reserves the right to cancel classes due to low enrollment. In the case of low enrollment, classes will be cancelled the Friday before the lesson and swimmers enrolled will be transferred to another class for no additional fee.
  • Late Registration: Swim lesson registration closes at 12:00 pm the Friday before the lesson. A $5 late registration fee will be applied after that time.

If your child misses a class for any reason there will be no make up days. A make up day will only be held if we must close due to weather or a maintenance issue. If you have any questions please feel free to contact the office at 916-487-7851.

Skill Level Descriptions

Level 1 – Starfish

This water adjustment class is designed to orient new swimmers to the aquatic environment and to teach them elementary
swimming skills such as blowing bubbles and floating with support. This class is geared towards getting swimmers more
comfortable in the water.
Requirement: Students must be three years of age. Parents may not enter the pool during swim lessons..

Level 2 – Turtle

This class is designed to orient new swimmers to the aquatic environment and to teach them elementary swimming skills
such as floating, basic arm strokes and much more. Elementary back stroke will be introduced.
Requirement: Students must be comfortable with fully submerging face in water and blowing bubbles.

Level 3 – Otter

This class is for children who already feel comfortable in the water and are ready to start swimming. This class focuses on
fundamentals of aquatic locomotion including glides, front crawl, and back crawl.
Requirement: Students must feel comfortable in water and must be able to float independently.

Level 4 – Dolphin

Children will become more confident with their swim skills in this class. This class develops confidence and competency
through stroke development for advanced beginner swimmers. We will be focusing on building endurance and stroke
proficiency in front and back crawl. Breaststroke and side stroke will be introduced.
Requirement: Students must be able to swim five yards on their own.
