Recreation Leader

Afterschool / Sports / Summer Camp

The Arden Manor Recreation and Park District is looking for enthusiastic and team oriented individuals to fill the position of Recreation Leader with our growing afterschool program. Our afterschool program provides art, cooking, homework assistance, gardening, and other enrichment activities in addition to year-round sports programs including flag football, soccer, basketball, volleyball, and Junior Giants baseball.

The Recreation Leader position will work under the supervison of the Recreation Coordinator and assist in conducting a wide variety of program activities including sports, cooking projects, arts, and academic tutoring at our afterschool program. This position is also eligible to continue after the school year with the Summer Day Camp program. Recreation leaders must be available a minimum of four days per week between the hours of 2:00pm and 6:00pm. Weekend hours are also available.

Preferred Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:

1. Ability to organize and conduct groups of all ages in recreation activities.

2. General knowledge of a wide variety of recreation programs.

3. Skills in communicating with the public.

4. Ability to work harmoniously and cooperatively with other employees and the public.

Minimum Requirements:

Must be at least 15 years of age. Any combination equivalent to experience or education that could likely provide the required knowledge and abilities.

Additional Requirements:

Must pass a Department of Justice background check and have current (or ability to obtain) CPR/First Aid certification.
