Heather Carey, Swim Team Coach
When I was four years old, I started swimming for Arden Manor. I continued to swim for Piranhas until I was 18. During this time, I also swam all four high school years on the Varsity Swim Team for Rio Americano High School. After high school, I attended American River College, where I swam one year on the Women’s Swim team. During this year, my coach changed me from a sprinter to a distance swimmer. My main events were 100 yard backstroke, 200 yard Individual Medley and 1650 yard freestyle. This is my second year as Assistant Coach for Arden Manor Piranhas. Last year my oldest nephew decided that he wanted to join the swim team. I had noticed a big sign on Hurley Way advertising for Piranhas. I had such fond memories swimming for the team that I told my sister that he should swim for our team. On his first day of practice, Jamie told me that she needed extra help with the new swimmers, and she asked me if I was interested. Up until that point, I had only coached one other season while I was still a swimmer. Even though I have very limited coaching experience, I have been swimming since I was four years old. I was fortunate enough to have great coaches who gave me extensive knowledge about swimming, and it those techniques and knowledge that I pass on to the kids today.

Anne Peery, Swim Team Coach
My name is Anne Peery and I am the 6 and under coach for Arden Manor Piranhas. This is my fourth year coaching swimming at Arden Manor. I began coaching because my daughter was on the team and being part of the swim board I was aware that we were having trouble finding an assistant coach due to lack of funds. I had many years experience coaching another sport and volunteered to coach the younger swimmers which I realy enjoy.
